How to Clean Dishwasher.

Upkeeping your dishwasher is essential to ensuring it gets its longest lifespan. This article will give you helpful tips and tricks for keeping up with cleaning your dishwasher and ensuring it stays healthy. If you do not maintain your dishwasher, it will eventually breakdown on you and require a dishwasher repair.

If you are wondering if you can clean your dishwasher – the answer is yes! We have put together 3 simple steps to help you clean your dishwasher by yourself.

1. Ensure the Drain is Clear of Food Particles and Debris:

Remove the bottom rack from your dishwasher to expose the drain in the bottom. Inspect your drain to ensure there are no food particles or food debris stuck in the drain. If there is anything in the way of the drain, clean this out to ensure that you aren’t spreading around dirt and grim when you begin to clean your dishwasher. This is going to increase the efficiency of your dishwasher clean you do today. When you are finished, put the bottom rack back in the dishwasher.

2. In a Dishwasher Safe Bowl, Place 1 Cup of Vinegar in Your Dishwasher:

Take one cup of vinegar and place this in your dishwasher. Most households have vinegar on hand but if you seem to be out, a quick run to your local grocery store can get you a jug. You will also need baking soda and if you do not have any baking soda either, I recommend you pick this up at the grocery store while you are getting vinegar. Baking soda is used in the final step and the vinegar is a great cleaning agent and is awesome at cutting away at grease, scum, and grim buildup. Place one cup of vinegar in a dishwasher safe bowl and using the top rack of your dishwasher, place the vinegar. Set your dishwasher to a hot-water cycle and run the cycle. Hot water will increase the efficiency of the vinegar at cutting away at all the grease and grim. If you have any unwanted odours, the vinegar and this step will help at removing these.

3. Baking Soda Rinse:

Sprinkle one cup of baking soda throughout your dishwasher and run this on a short cycle. The baking soda will help brighten, remove any remaining odour, and remove the remainder of stains.
