Bosch Dishwasher Has No Power

1. Power is Not On


Although this may seem like an obvious answer, there are many places you can check to make sure that the power source is properly turned on.


i) Make sure that the dishwasher is plugged into the wall. Always ensure that you never plug an appliance in using an extension cord. When you use an extension cord, you are creating a longer path of energy transfer that has a higher chance are starting a fire.


ii) Ensure that all power switches are turned on. There may even be a switch under the sink that got hit accidentally and is turned off.


iii) Check the breaker that is connected to the dishwasher to ensure that the breaker is switched in the on position.

2. Door is Not Closed Properly


Most dishwasher will not allow the dishwasher to run if the door is not properly latched. This prevents any leaks from happening and prevents any damage to the area surrounding your dishwasher. When you start your dishwasher, ensure that the door is properly closed.


You may find that your dishwasher latch is broken while checking this. Or maybe the relay is not properly signalling to the control board that the door is properly latched. If this is the case, it is best practice to call in a professional dishwasher technician to properly fix this.

3. Dishwasher Cycle Settings Not Properly Set


Check to make sure that the child lock setting is not turned on or that delayed start is not set. Reference your Bosch dishwasher manual to learn how to properly set or remove these functions. Your dishwasher should alert you if any of these settings are on, check the front panel to see if this is displayed.


If you find that your control panel is not responding and child lock is not engaged, it is likely that your control panel will need to be replaced. There may also be a problem with the hiring harness between the control panel and the main control board, call in a technician to properly diagnose and repair this.

4. Water Supply Issue


If there is any water supply issues to your dishwasher, this will signal to your dishwasher not to begin any cycle. Check the water valve behind the dishwasher to make sure it is turned on and that the dishwasher is properly connected to the water supply. If everything is hooked up properly, check the hose to ensure that it is not being restricted or damaged.


If all checks out, you may have a faulty inlet valve that must be replaced. It is best to call in a professional to properly diagnose and repair your dishwasher.

5. Broken Parts on Your Bosch Dishwasher
