6 Causes to Why a Samsung Dryer Takes Longer to Dry Your Clothes Than Normal.

Dryer Diagnosis and Repair Calgary

Have you noticed that drying your dryer takes longer? Do you remember the days when your dryer would finish drying at the same time that your washing machine finished with the next load? Have you ever wondered what happened to your Samsung dryer because it is not drying your clothes fully? We have compiled a list of 6 reasons why your dryer takes longer to dry clothes and how you can avoid longer than necessary laundry days.

1. Dryer Power Issue

Check what type of plugin is used to plugin your dryer. If you are plugged into a socket that has only 120V, this can be the problem. You want your dryer to be plugged into a 240V outlet to make sure it has enough power to dry. If your dryer is gas, just you only need it plugged into a 120V plug in, but you need to make sure you have the correct gas connection to make sure it is receiving the correct power.

2. Load is Too Large

Many times people don't realize that overloading can cause your dryer to take longer to dry clothes. This is a common problem as to why you have to run two cycles to dry the load of laundry. If your load is too large, you will not allow sufficient air circulation and this will reduce the drying speed of the clothes. If you are not sure if this is the case because you feel that the load is not too large for the washbasin, reduce to ¾ of a normal load and see if this will increase the drying time.

3. The Clothes are Wet

If you are finding that your clothes are coming out of the washing machine super wet, you may have an issue with your washer. Make sure that your clothes are not soaking wet when you remove them from the washer and put them in the dryer. If you are finding your clothes are dripping with water when you remove them from the washer, it is going to make the drying time increase.

You can check the washing machine to make sure it is set to include a normal spin cycle. If you set it to hand wash or gentle cycle, the spin speed may not be high enough for your laundry to ring properly. If your washing machine is set to the correct settings, you may have a problem with the washing machine itself.

4. Incorrect dryer setting

Make sure your dryer is set to the correct (normal) drying setting. If you have "Eco Setting" and it is set to use it, it will use less energy/heat to dry your clothes. This can result in wet clothing at the end of the cycle

 5. Lint Trap is Not Cleaned Out

Make sure your lint trap does not have a buildup of lint. If you do not empty it after each load, these fibers will cause your dryer to have less air circulation and will result in longer drying times.

.

How to Clean a Samsung Lint Filter:

 i) Open the dryer door

ii) Remove the lint trap from the front of the dryer drum.

iii) Clean the lint from the filter with your hand or a piece of paper towel.

iv) Remove any excess lint left in the filter compartment

 v) Replace the lint trap and close the dryer door.

6. Exhaust Vent for Your Dryer is Clogged

If none of the above steps work for you, your exhaust vent may be clogged. Below you will find how to clean it yourself.

 i) Disconnect the dryer vent from the wall

ii) Clean both ends of the vent with a soft nylon brush or a small tight vacuum attachment.

iii) Remove the exhaust hood from the outside of your home.

iv) Brush or vacuum any debris from the vent on the outside of your home.

 v) Replace the hood and reconnect the dryer to the wall

vi) You can repeat these steps every year to make sure your vents are always clean.
